Patchogue is the best place for young professionals in Suffolk County, according to a new 2024 study by Niche.com.
A vibrant social scene, together with high ratings for diversity, nightlife and job opportunities, secured village the No. 1 spot on Niche’s list of Best Places for Young Professionals in Suffolk County.
Residents praise Patchogue for its variety of restaurants, bars and entertainment options, as well its proximity to the water and ferry service with access to Fire Island and ocean beaches.
“As a resident of Patchogue Village, I would have to say it’s a great place to live. You have diversity, great food, beaches, music, parks, shopping, public transportation, pool, neighborhood lookouts, good schools, and a mayor who truly loves and listens to his people and actually fights for an even better place with more jobs and opportunities. I’d say Patchogue is the place to be,” one resident wrote on Niche, an online platform that ranks neighborhoods and schools.
Following closely behind Patchogue is East Farmingdale at No. 2, maintaining its strong position from last year’s rankings. Port Jefferson ranks third, celebrated for its charming waterfront, cultural attractions and community events. Cold Spring Harbor and Great River round out the top five, heralded for their scenic beauty and family-friendly atmospheres.
