A Department of Transportation worker was seriously injured Thursday night after an allegedly intoxicated driver struck him while he was placing traffic cones on the Long Island Expressway in Holtsville, Suffolk County Police said. Joseph Kalinowski, 54, of Centereach, was charged with driving while intoxicated.
