Guitar lovers rejoice!
The Island Symphony Orchestra kicks off another star-studded season at St. Peter’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10.
And the 2024-2025 season kicks off with the acclaimed classical guitarist Gohar Vardanyan.
Vardanyan will open the program with a performance of Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo’s popular Concierto de Aranjuez.

Described by Guitar International Magazine as “the complete package,” Ms. Vardanyan is an artist of rare gifts, combining extraordinary technique with great musicality.
The program will conclude with Anton Bruckner’s moving Fourth Symphony, nicknamed “The Romantic.”
This epic work is described by Island Symphony Orchestra Music Director, Eric R. Stewart, as truly unique, adding, “It features every form of musical expression from the grand and monumental to the quiet and intimate.”
This program is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by The Huntington Arts Council and with Public Funding from Suffolk County.
