Ronkonkoma’s Station Yards will host its Second Annual Turkey Drive on Friday, Nov. 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with all donations benefiting Long Island Cares. The event aims to support the more than 313,800 food-insecure Long Islanders — including 71,500 children — who are counting on community help this Thanksgiving season.
In a major boost, organizers say FourLeaf Federal Credit Union and M&T Bank have each pledged $10,000 within the last 24 hours. Representatives from both organizations will be on site with Long Island Cares starting around 7 a.m. to help kick off the drive.
“Their presence and contributions are a testament to the community spirit we’re fostering,” said a representative of Tritec Real Estate, Station Yards developers.
Here’s how to help on Friday:
Donate: Community members can drop off frozen turkeys or nonperishable food items at Station Yards anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Spread the word: Encourage friends, family and coworkers to participate and give back.
This year’s Turkey Drive is hosted in partnership with the Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce, the MacArthur Business Alliance and Sachem Schools.
Together, organizers say, Long Islanders can make a real difference for families across the region this holiday season.
