Port Jefferson and Belle Terre
Lace up your sneakers and head to Port Jefferson for the annual Northwell Walk to Raise Health, benefiting the Fortunato Breast Health Center at Mather Hospital. Presented by Four Leaf Federal Credit Union, the event features a five-mile walk through the picturesque streets of Port Jefferson and Belle Terre.
The morning kicks off with check-in at 8:30 a.m., followed by a warm-up session and 10 a.m. step-off. Festivities include music, raffles, photo ops, and the always-popular Pink Your Pooch contest — show off your most fabulously “pinked” pup!
The walk is sponsored by New York Cancer & Blood Specialists, King Quality Roofing and Siding, Riverhead Toyota, and CSDNET. Funds raised support breast cancer awareness and emphasize the importance of regular screenings starting at age 40. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer accounts for one in three new female cancer diagnoses annually in the U.S.
Walk in honor of a survivor, in memory of a loved one, or simply to support a good cause. Participants who raise $100 or more earn Walk Fundraising Rewards, available for pick-up on event day. Create or join a team, or walk solo. Every step helps.
