Continuing to do whatever’s possible to bring a little normal to a school year that’s been anything but, Sayville schools this week held its 33rd annual Senior Breakfast.
Adhering to social distancing guidelines, the high school adapted to the times and made it happen for hundreds of students in the Class of 2021. The breakfast was scheduled on Superintendent’s Conference day — when students usually do not come to school — so the seniors were the only grade inside the building.
With the hallways decorated for the festive event, the seniors enjoyed their breakfast in 12 “classroom cafes.” Seniors were able to sign up for specific classroom cohorts with whom they would celebrate breakfast.
