Community news website greaterbayshore.com set to launch next month

|

greaterbayshore.com

The founder of greaterpatchogue.com is expanding operations to focus on another historic South Shore downtown and its neighbors.

The community news site greaterbayshore.com goes live June 1, less than a year after publisher Michael White launched greaterpatchogue.com from his home in Bellport.

Greaterpatchogue.com has been viewed nearly 750,000 times since it launched last July 1.

The idea behind greaterbayshore.com will be the same as with greaterpatchogue.com. That is, community news that’s written in a way that’s fun and engaging, with a focus on events coverage and news features — as opposed to crime and politics.

“I can’t say enough about what a blessing it has been starting this business in Patchogue and covering the village and the surrounding areas,” White said. “Everyone’s been so helpful, supportive and truly appreciative of the coverage.”

“I see Bay Shore and the surrounding areas as places overflowing with the types of great stories that are needed to power a website like this,” he added. “I’m really looking forward to helping tell those stories.”

Greaterbayshore.com will cover the communities along the South Shore between Robert Moses Causeway and Heckscher State Parkway, with a bulk of the coverage dedicated to downtown Bay Shore.
