Youth baseball and softball players were treated to San Diego-like weather and new playing turf at Patchogue Village’s Waldbauer Park on Saturday, Opening Day for the Patchogue Youth Athletic Association.
State Senator Tom Croci and Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri were also on hand to kick off the season. The artificial turf at Field 1 in the park along Rider Avenue was installed this spring.
