The 10th annual Smith Point Triathlon is set for tomorrow morning, with more than 525 participants set to swim, bike and run around Smith Point County Park and up William Floyd Parkway.
The event starts at 6:50 a.m. with a 500-meter swim in Narrow Bay starting at the parking lot fishing pier, followed by a 16k bike ride over the Smith Point bridge up William Floyd Parkway and back again, and then a 5k run back over the bridge, returning to Smith Point and ending through the tunnel at Tiki Joe’s Smith Point.
An electric sign posted near the corner of Surrey Circle and William Floyd Parkway states drivers should expect delays as the triathlon runs through 9 a.m.
An awards ceremony will be held at the memorial, under the flags at the TWA Flight 800 Memorial starting at 9:15 a.m., said Vicki Ventura of event organizer EventPower.
GreaterMoriches will have coverage and photos of the event, so come back to see it all.
