This year’s singles bar crawl in Patchogue happens Feb. 14, and it’s free

|

Patchogue’s popular singles bar crawl will be returning for a fourth year this Valentine’s Day in the downtown.

This year’s event is free. It used to be $20.

So for no money up-front, attendees receive leis — indicating they are part of the crawl — and are treated to specials at the participating restaurants during the allotted times.

The night gets started at Fulton’s Gate Irish Pub at 5:30 p.m. and proceeds west along Main Street, culminating with the annual Singles Ball at That Meetball Place.

“Every year this crawl gets better and better,” said Tiffany Rivera,  the crawl’s lead organizers and a VP with the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the event. “Every bar was packed last year. Even couples are opting to have this kind of night out, rather than the typical reservations for dinner. It’s been so much fun.”

Fulton’s Gate owner James Gilroy said he’s happy to offer plenty of parking behind his restaurant, which makes it a perfect first stop for the single’s crawl, which is formally called Looking For Love in all the Right Places.

The parking makes Fulton’s Gate an ideal first spot, he said.

Gilroy also pointed out that the crawl is bookended by Fulton’s Gate and the last stop, which happens at 9:30 p.m. at That Meetball Place, which are each participants in the Long Island Safer Bars Initiative. Click here to read more about the Safer Bars program.
