West Islip’s Anne-Marie Dunn honored as a Teacher of Excellence

|

West Islip High School teacher Anne-Marie Dunn was honored at the second annual Teacher of Excellence Awards ceremony earlier this month in Bay Shore.

The event, hosted by state Senator Phil Boyle, was May 4 at the Bay Shore Fire Department.

“Mrs. Dunn brings a joyful passion for teaching and learning to every student with whom she has contact,” said West Islip Superintendent Bernadette Burns. “She is a credit to the district and to the profession, and I am honored that she has chosen West Islip in which to do her life work.”

Boyle said 16 outstanding educators and school professions were honored.

These are people “who have dedicated their lives to teaching and helping their students learn, thrive, and reach their fullest potential,” he said. “Our school communities are so very fortunate to have such passionate educators.”
