Nearly 30 food vendors lined up for 2017’s Farmers Market in Babylon Village

|

The Babylon Village Farmers Market is set to make its return for a fifth season starting Sunday, June 4.

The market, a joint effort of Babylon Village and G&G Long Island, takes up shop in the village parking lot north of the LIRR station every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It runs each week through Nov. 19, rain or shine.

G&G has lined up 26 vendors for the summer and fall in Bablyon, including Bambino’s Ravioli, Miss Amy’s Preserves, and Sep’s Family Farm of East Marion.

“Babylon is a great market,” said Lona Graepel of G&G. “We do live music. Last year we had a children’s author come and do a little reading.”

And this year, Graepel will be making a push for some on-site cooking demos (once a month) and will be reaching out to local restaurants to participate.

“It would give people an idea of how to cook with some of these vegetables they might have always seen in the store, but don’t know what to do with,” she said.
