|

Photographer Lauren Trantham has been riding across the U.S. on a motorcycle to raise awareness and money for victims of sex trafficking.

She arrived in New York City Monday and is making her way to Patchogue Village today, Wednesday. She’s expected to arrive in Patchogue this evening.

Trantham has partnered with The Rebecca Bender Initiative, which mentors and supports survivors all over the country. Trantham is looking to raise $60,000 through a genorosity.com campaign and is 20 percent of the way there.

The funds will sponsor the enrollment of 50 sex trafficking survivors in The Rebecca Bender Initiative’s Elevate Program, a 16-week course that, according to the campaign, “supports survivors with career coaching, resume building, business etiquette and interview skills” and more.

To help, Patchogue photographer Benny Migliorino of Benny Migs Photo, donated his time and effort to produce the above promotional video, which he shot in Ashland, Ore., where Trantham lives, earlier this summer.
