Patchogue’s Chili & Chowder contest winners announced

The Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners from Saturday’s Chili & Chowder Festival in downtown Patchogue.

Del Fuego’s Turkey Chorizo Chili took home top honors for the best chili, and Blue Moon Deli’s Seafood Chowder (served at Roast Coffee) was voted best chowder.

292 ballots were submitted for best chili and 293 for best chowder.

“I am happy to report that everyone received multiple votes in a very competitive contest,” said David Kennedy, the chamber’s executive director.

Here is a breakdown:

BEST CHILI

The winner was Del Fuego’s Turkey Chorizo Chili with 43 votes.

Second place went to Blue Moon Deli’s Chicken Mango Habanero Chili (served from Roast Coffee) with 38 votes.

In third place was Village Idiot Pub’s VIP Beef Chili with 32 votes.

BEST CHOWDER

The winner was Blue Moon Deli’s Seafood Chowder (served at Roast Coffee & Tea Trading Company) with 65 votes.

Second place went to Village Idiot Pub’s Roasted Corn & Red Pepper Chowder with 37 votes.

Tied for third place was The Cheese Patch’s CP Autumn Chowder w/ Butternut Squash & That Meetball Place’s Crab Corn Chowder, both receiving 35 votes.
