1st-round TKO propels Bellport’s Alex Vargas to 9-0

|

Alex Vargas’ business trip to Florida went exactly as planned.

The Bellport boxer recorded his third career finish after TKOing Elliot Brown (2-18, 2 KOs) in the first two minutes of his fight on Nov. 21 at Bryan Glazer Family JCC Auditorium in Tampa.

The bout, which was presented by Pier 6 Promotions, was El Toro’s ninth career pro fight.

He now sits at a perfect 9-0 with three knockouts — this was his third win and second knockout over the last four months.

“I’m grateful to have finished out this year in the ring with four fights and two knockouts,” Vargas told GreaterPatchogue after his lastest finish. “It was a tough time this year being able to train and get fights, but we managed to have the great team of my father and Team Havoc behind me.”

Vargas said he plans to re-enter the ring in early 2021.
