20 Photos: Day two at the Long Island Seafood Festival

|

By Katherine Hoey

The 27th annual Long Island Seafood Festival washed over West Sayville this weekend with tasty food, live music and family fun.

The event was hosted by the Long Island Maritime Museum, est. 1966, at the head of the water on West Avenue overlooking the Great South Bay.

Money collected this weekend will aide the nonprofit museum in continuing to preserve the region’s bountiful history.

A few clouds didn’t scare off the seafood lovers who flocked to the festival on Sunday, the event’s second day.

While the festival didn’t solely sell fish and crustaceans, West Sayville’s Blue Island Oysters and Claws Seafood Market battled it out for seafood lovers all weekend — both amassing lines full of hungry patrons.

The museum will see two more events this season:

  1. 30th annual Halloween Boat Burning: Oct. 25, 5-9 p.m
  2. ‘Tis the Season: Dec. 7, 4-7 p.m
