It was a prom like no other.
Patchogue transformed its Main Street into an outdoor venue to celebrate Patchogue-Medford High School seniors Monday evening.
The school district teamed with the village, Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce and local restaurants and businesses to make the special night happen.
Planning for the Main Street prom started in the winter, during which time it was very unclear if the students would have a prom at all due to the pandemic. At the time, there were mask mandates, COVID testing protocols, and indoor and outdoor capacity limitations to consider. The idea was hatched to hold the prom, in one form or another, along Main Street.
