They’re calling it “Vaccination Day.”
More than 300 Eastport-South Manor School District employees will receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Manorville on Saturday, district officials said today.
Superintendent Joseph Steimel will be among the group of teachers and administrators to be vaccinated in the gym at Eastport-South Manor Junior-Senior High School in Manorville.
“Among the first of its kind…, the event will take place under the guidance and directive of trained local health care professionals,” reads a district statement announcing the initiative.
The statement says further that the 9:30 a.m. “Vaccination Day” event is being held “to ensure the health and safety of Eastport-South Manor students and staff.”
The district is conducting the vaccinations in partnership with Long Island Urgent Care.
