Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce executive director David Kennedy hopes the trend of retailers establishing themselves online then opening in Patchogue continues.
That’s the leap made by Jennifer Poppiti of Islip and her Say More Boutique, which is now open at 10 Havens Avenue in the New Village complex.
Poppiti previously told GreaterPatchogue that while Say More was popular online, she still craved the social, community aspect of a brick-and-mortar shop. And she thought there was no bustling little downtown better for her audience than Patchogue’s.
“I am so excited and grateful to be a part of the Patchogue community,” she told those gathered at a special ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday at Say More Boutique. “The reception of SayMore Boutique has been amazing, and to see the excitement of our retail presence is priceless. It truly is a dream come true.”
Friday’s event also drew locally elected leaders, such as Mayor Paul Pontieri, who toasted Poppiti and her decision to open in Patchogue Village.
County Legislator Rob Calarco, whose offices are just a couple hundred yards away, welcomed the opportunity to go shopping so close to his office to pick up gifts for his wife.
Say More is a contemporary, women’s-only clothing shop that offers quality, boutique pieces — all handpicked by Poppiti — at prices she’s proud of keeping affordable for locals.
“Jennifer started her business online and decided it was time to open a physical location maybe she is starting a trend right here in Patchogue,” Kennedy said Friday.
