Subzero reopens in Patchogue as Freezology, with a renewed focus on alcohol

|

Subzero ice cream is reopening for the season on Friday, March 9, at 3 p.m.

Just don’t call it Subzero. And get ready for a buzz.

The Zollo family behind the liquid nitrogen-fired ice cream franchise location is going independent — and the shop is now called Freezology Craft Creamery.

“We’re keeping most of our menu items and the process the same. We will be focusing more on the alcohol infused ice cream,” ownership tells us.

Before 2018, the creamers at 73 North Ocean Avenue only offered alcohol-infused ice cream in a predetermined recipe made to taste like a classic cocktail in ice cream form.

“We are now offering any of our spirits in any medium or larger ice cream,” they tell us.

“We are also in the process of lowering our environmental impact with new biodegradable bowls and we are looking into similar materials for new greener spoons.

“We look forward to another great season!”
