For the second time in two years, The Emporium will be playing host to a massive military care package packing event called the annual “Pack Out.”

Last year’s drive, organized by Boots on the Ground NY of Ronkonkoma, a military support group, drew 800 people to Patchogue Village, resulting in 1,800 care packages that were later shipped to American troops stationed overseas, the organizers said.

This year’s event is set for 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, at the Railroad Avenue concert hall.

Attendees are being asked to bring items for the care packages. Click here for a complete list of what’s needed.

The bands Decadlia and 45 RPM will be performing. There will also be a free buffet and a $5 donation will be collected at the door.

Those donations will cover the cost of shipping the care packages.
