Wölffer Estate will be pouring the wine at ‘Island to Table’ in Patchogue

|

The wine for Island to Table has just arrived from Sagoponack.

That’s right, one of Long Island’s most renowned wineries, Wölffer Estate Vineyard, will be pouring the night away at the 5-course, outdoor dining experience Sunday in Patchogue.

Each course will be paired with a wine from Wölffer or beer from The Brewers Collective. All five hand-selected five local chefs will be cooking with ingredients sourced from Long Island farmers and fisherman.

“Long Island agriculture, aquaculture and viticulture are among the finest in the country,” says Roman Roth, the head winemaker and a partner at Wölffer Estate. “To bring all three together onto one table is the greatest way to highlight how special this is for Long Island.”

According to liwines.com, Wölffer was founded in 1988 by Hamburg-born Christian Wölffer,

It’s a 55-acre vineyard located just north of Route 27 in the Hamptons, on former potato fields. Wölffer produces some 50,000 cases of wine and hard cider each year.

As of press time, Island to Table, for which Greater Long Island is the media sponsor, was sold out. Now in its third year, the night serves as a fundraiser for HomeGrown Change, a nonprofit gardening and sustainability group.

The vineyard jumped at the chance to be involved on Sunday, starting with a 5 p.m. cocktail hour at Michael E. Reilly Memorial Park, near the Great South Bay in Patchogue Village.

“Wölffer Estate is proud to be a part of this community and of this wonderful fundraiser,” Roth said.
