CAVA planning fourth Long Island location, this time in East Farmingdale

CAVA is continuing its Long Island buildout.

The fast-casual Mediterranean chain is planning to open a new restaurant in East Farmingdale, a corporate spokesperson confirmed to Greater Long Island.

The new spot is planned for 1024 Broadhollow Road, inside the former Taïm restaurant space.

“CAVA does intend to open next year in East Farmingdale, but we aren’t able to confirm any other specifics or a time frame at this point,” the company said in a statement.

It would mark CAVA’s fourth Long Island location.

The chain opened its first Island restaurant in Melville in September 2021, followed by a Westbury location at 256 Old Country Road and, most recently, an East Northport restaurant at 4097 Jericho Turnpike.

CAVA is known for customizable Mediterranean bowls, salads and pitas. Diners choose a base of greens or grains, then add dips and spreads such as tzatziki, red pepper hummus or roasted eggplant.

Protein options include harissa honey chicken, falafel and spicy lamb meatballs, with toppings such as pickled onions, feta and cabbage slaw.

The company, founded by Ted Xenohristos, Ike Grigoropoulos and Dimitri Moshovitis, launched its first restaurant in 2006 and went public in June 2023.
