Montauk Brewing Company is heading west — or, as the locals say, “down Port.”
The popular East End craft brewery just announced it has signed a six-year lease for the former Port Jefferson Brewing Company space at 22 Mill Creek Road in Chandler Square, where it plans to open a new brewing facility and taproom in July.
The roughly 800-square-foot location will become Montauk Brewing’s second brewing facility and its first satellite taproom outside of Montauk, marking a major expansion for the brand that first launched from its iconic “Brew Barn” back in 2012, the announcement reads.
“This expansion is a testament to our fans, our distributors, and our retail partners who have helped Montauk Brewing grow far beyond our East End roots and the original Brew Barn taproom where it all began,” co-founder Vaughan Cutillo said in an announcement.
Cutillo added that the company sees similarities between Port Jefferson’s waterfront culture and the laid-back coastal identity that has long defined the Montauk brand.

“We’re excited and honored to open our first satellite location in the village of Port Jefferson where we share a similar community-oriented mindset and coastal lifestyle that has always been integral to our brand,” he said. “Montauk is going down Port to provide Long Islanders another touchpoint to enjoy fresh, delicious brews and endless good vibes.”
Founded by longtime friends in 2012, Montauk Brewing Company has grown from a local surf-town beer brand into a nationally distributed craft brewery. The company is now owned by Tilray Brands, which acquired Montauk Brewing in 2022.
A year later, the company acquired Blue Point Brewing in Patchogue from Anheuser-Busch InBev.
