Suffolk Police identify mom found dead in Sayville home, say she was a ‘victim of violence’

Suffolk Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina confirmed Friday morning that a Sayville mom found dead in her home Thursday night was a victim of a violent attack.

Police identified the woman as 62-year-old Rachel Frislid. She was found unconscious by a family member inside her 26 Pearl Court home about 8:34 p.m., police said.

Standing near the woman’s home, Catalina gave an update on the case, noting that a murder investigation is underway.

Frislid has two adult children. According to her LinkedIn page, she is the owner and director of corporate development at Academy Tent Rentals and Preferred Promotions, Ltd., based in Sayville and Bohemia.

A police mobile crime lab truck was parked in front of a house on the block. Earlier, Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office vehicles were seen leaving the scene.

Pearl Court is off of Johnson Avenue and positioned between Sayville Middle School and Sunrise Highway, in the heart of a bucolic Sayville neighborhood.
