Quitting is hard.
That is why the Town of Brookhaven is organizing a Kick the Habit program to help those trying to wean off cigarettes.
To do so, Brookhaven is teaming up with the Suffolk County Department of Health to offer six-weeks of smoking cessation meetings.
In those classes, attendees will learn how to cope with withdrawals through stress management, behavioral modification, and relaxation.
For a fee, there also will be medication available to help kick the habitat.
The meetings will be every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. starting April 5 in the second-floor media room at Brookhaven Town Hall, located at One Independence Hill in Farmingville.
