A look at Fork and Fiddle, now open in Port Jefferson

Port Jeff’s new take on Southern eating, Fork and Fiddle has swung its doors open in the village earlier this month.

Located in the former Smoke Shack Blues Barbecue space at 138 Main Street, the eatery aims to provide a new dining experience to the area.

As previously reported, the restaurant’s operators — who also own  Prohibition Kitchen, East Main and Main and Torte Jeff — will have a family-style menu, where patrons would eat from a multi-course meal.

So for around $28 per person, Fork and Fiddle staffers will sit down patrons, ask general questions on what people like, and then begin bringing out plate after plate. There are also options to upgrade the menu, as well as ordering a la carte.

“We wanted to give people options,” said Tom Fazio, Fork and Fiddle’s general manager.

Since launching the concept, Fazio has loved the reactions so far.

“When all the food is laid out on the table, the people’s eyes open so wide,” he said. “It’s amazing.”
