What are you going to do when the sun comes back out?
Loughlin Vineyards in Sayville has a pretty good option: Sunset Saturday. The quaint little winery located on Middle Road on the spacious grounds of Roosevelt’s historical Meadow Croft Estate is staying open until sunset on Sept. 14. The wine starts pouring at 1 p.m.
In late July, dozens of wine lovers enjoyed a picture perfect Sunset Sunday at Loughlin. Saturday’s sunset event comes with a bonus: Wine server Brittany Cutrone, whose mom and two aunts run the business, said the winery will release this year’s cabernet sauvignon.
Barney Loughlin and his family opened the vineyard more than three decades ago. The vineyard, which has somehow remained one of Long Island’s hidden gems, yields five different types of wine a year from its seven-acre crop.
This weekend, the winery is scheduled to be open from 1-4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
