The weather was perfect for a parade and the football game was pretty much perfect for the home crowd Saturday as the Bayport-Blue Point School District held its annual homecoming.
Students in every grade — including youth league athletes and band members from the elementary schools and the middle and high schools — marched about a mile from Blue Point Elementary School down Railroad St. to Bayport-Blue Point High School during the 11:30 a.m. homecoming parade.
On the field, the high school band performed the national anthem, and soon after, Bayport-Blue Point began dismantling Greenport/Southold/Mattituck on both sides of the ball. Dressed in their traditional homecoming colors of green and gold, the Phantoms led 43-0 at half-time.
