Bella Cucina of West Islip has opened its doors and is now slinging pizza pies and other Italian staples from its storefront at 424 Montauk Highway.
“We are new and you should give us a try,” said owner Sam Ismail, who is from Naples, Italy.
Bella Cucina opened on Monday, Sept. 11, and Ismail said the response has been positive.
“Our customers were happy,” he said. “Everybody was waiting for us to open.”
GreaterBabylon caught up with Ismail last month when he explained background, as well as his other restaurants, like Porto Fino in Levittown.
Now he and the staff are getting acclimated in West Islip.
“People are very, very nice around here,” he said.
Ismail said he will be sending out coupons throughout the the area, from Babylon to Sayville, for discounted dishes as he and the crew try to build up their customer base.
In addition to pizza, Bella Cucina’s menu includes a wide array of different Italian entreés.
“We have a lot of good shrimp dishes,” he said.
