Starbucks is looking to get the green light to open its newest location on Long Island’s South Shore.
According to Brookhaven Town Councilman Dan Panico, plans will soon be submitted to the town for a Starbucks location in Shirley along Montauk Highway.
The chain coffee shop would be located in the same shopping center that currently features a Chase Bank and Applebee’s, among other retailers.
Panico said the plans would not require any additional curb cuts onto Montauk Highway, “as all existing ingress and egress to the center will remain the same.”

This Starbucks would have a drive-thru, Panico confirmed after responding to a comment on his post.
Panico, who met with the property owners on Thursday, said if the Starbucks is approved, the shopping center that used to house Staples would be nearly filled with all new tenants. Northwell’s Peconic Bay Medical Center opened a medical campus in the shopping center last year. Aldi supermarket opened in the plaza in 2021.
