Scoops & Cones Cafe, the newest mom-and-pop ice cream shop in town, is capturing the hearts and taste buds of local Long Islanders with a menu full of sweet and savory treats.
Located at 95 Fulton St., the shop has looked to set itself apart from traditional ice cream parlors by introducing such mouthwatering delights as its colossal Waffle Yachts, sweet brownie bowls, and savory French toast sticks. Customers can also indulge in nostalgic favorites the likes of Cereal Shakes, flyings saucers and banana splits.
Owner Thomas Cacciopoli takes pride in the fresh and handmade nature of his creations. From the waffles and crepes made right in front of customers to freshly baked brownies and gourmet cookies, he insists that each item is prepared with meticulous attention to detail.
“The waffles and crepes are hand-made right in front of you,” Cacciopoli said. “It takes a little longer to make when it’s hand-made but I like everything to be fresh for each customer. Even the brownies are freshly made and our cookies are gourmet.”
Scoops & Cones Cafe expanded its presence to Farmingdale following its successful launch in Wantagh. It quickly caused a stir, drawing over 200 customers during its grand opening in March. Recently, the shop hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening event.
Cacciopoli’s personal favorite on the menu is the customizable crepe, which can be tailored to individual preferences. Some popular combinations showcased on their Instagram include banana and marshmallow; peanut butter and marshmallow; and strawberries and bananas.
The Farmingdale location recently introduced a grilled cheese sandwich to its menu. Scoops & Cones Cafe also offers lobster bisque, tomato bisque and chicken noodle soup.
Scoops & Cones Cafe is open Sunday to Thursday from noon until 9 p.m., as well as on and Friday and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.
