HomeGoods, the renowned home-furnishing retailer, is gearing up to open its 16th store on Long Island.
The new location is in the works for New Hyde Park at 657 Hillside Ave., a 24,000-square-foot space that was formerly occupied by a pharmacy.
Welco Realty Inc., a New Rochelle-based real estate brokerage firm, facilitated the lease agreement for the landlord SFR Realty, Inc.
The decision to choose this particular location was driven by its strategic placement in a thriving shopping center, said Jerry Welkis, president of Welco Realty Inc.
“We are very excited to be able to bring HomeGoods another anchor to a very successful shopping center presently anchored by a high volume Stop & Shop supermarket with other major national companies such as Old Navy, Five Below and Panera Bread,” Welkis said in a statement earlier this month.
The HomeGoods store in New Hyde Park is being prepped for a 2024 launch.
HomeGoods, which is owned by TJX Companies Inc., is the sister retailer to Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, Homesense, among others.
