The island’s first Insomnia Cookies opened this month, located just a stone’s throw from Hofstra University.
Situated at 730 Fulton Ave. in Hempstead, this popular chain bakery is serving warm cookies and other desserts, including brownies and ice cream, at all hours of the day and night, staying open until 3 a.m. from Thursday through Saturday. The cookie joint also provides delivery.
Insomnia Cookies serves a wide selection of cookies, ranging from seasonal to vegan and gluten-free options. Among their popular creations are the Double Chocolate Chunk, Peanut Butter Chip, and Snickerdoodle cookies. Tap here to view the complete selection.
With over 240 locations across the U.S., including more than a dozen in New York City, the company announced its expansion plans on Oct. 9, reaching new areas, including Long Island.
Founded in 2003 by then-college student Seth Berkowitz, who initially sold cookies out of his dorm room at the University of Pennsylvania, Insomnia Cookies later opened its first location in Syracuse.
“I could have never imagined that an idea that began in my dorm room would one day blossom into a beloved global bakery,” said Berkowitz, founder and CEO of Insomnia Cookies. “Insomnia is so grateful to our loyal Insomniacs, whose insatiable hunger and passion for our brand has fueled our growth.”
