More fun is coming to Adventureland.
The Long Island amusement park has just announced a multi-year, $10 million redevelopment plan for its location in Farmingdale.
Through a new partnership with Catholic Health, Adventureland is introducing new rides, along with other upgrades to the park, through 2028.
In a press conference on Tuesday, representatives from Adventureland, Catholic Health, and elected officials were on hand to share the details.
The first phase entails transforming the back area of the park, previously known as Pirate’s Cove, and rebranding it as Legacy Corner. In the process, the park retired the adult pirate ship ride and the log flume called Adventure Falls.
The new Legacy Corner will be home to four new rides. The first, debuting this season, features Moon Chaser, where visitors will experience spinning and inversion. Next year, Wave Twister, a rollercoaster on a wavelike track, is set to launch.
Between 2026 and 2028, two more rides are to be installed, officials said, adding they will release more information when the time gets closer.
In addition to Moon Chaser, a new ride called the Jr. Pirate Ship has replaced the Spinning Cars ride at the Kiddie Land entrance. It will be ready for this season.
The park is also rebranding its City Hall building — used as a first aid center and guest relations — as the Catholic Health Wellness Center.
These moves come two years after the addition of their latest rollercoaster, FireBall, a ride experience that features a free-falling sensation and pure thrill for around 90 seconds.
“We think it will incorporate both children and parents, allowing them to enjoy a family-style ride that will provide an exciting thrill every time you ride,” Steven Gentile, co-owner of the family-operated amusement park, previously told Greater Long Island.
Before FireBall in 2022, the last rollercoaster added to the Adventureland theme park was back in 2015 with its Turbulence Coaster.
Adventureland opens for the season is Saturday, March 23.
