Suffolk police ID woman killed at luxurious Hamptons resort and spa

|

The woman found dead Monday at the Shou Sugi Ban House in Water Mill has been identified by police as Sabina Rosas, 33, of Brooklyn.

Rosas’ body was first discovered by a staff member around 12:30 p.m. in a guest room at the exclusive resort at 337 Montauk Highway.

Police later determined she was a victim of violence. The cause of death will be determined following an autopsy by personnel from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.

No other information was released about the victim. And no arrests have been reported. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

All calls will be kept confidential, police say.

The resort itself, which encompasses three acres of prime Hamptons real estate, is strictly for the well-heeled. For example, what’s called a Couples Stay package at the Shou Sugi Ban House for the second weekend in November would cost an average nightly rate of $1,400, according to the website.

The average nightly rate for a Custom Stay, through which some add-ons are available à la carte, is listed at $1,275 on the website for that same weekend, Nov. 8 – Nov. 10.
