Paper Doll Vintage Boutique is marking its big comeback in Sayville this month — nearly a year after a fire destroyed its former location.
The beloved shop will reopen Saturday, Aug. 16, at 106 Railroad Ave., with an all-day celebration from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. that includes live music, prizes, dancing and a “best dressed” contest.
The night wraps up with a special 8:30 p.m. showing of Clueless at the Sayville Movie Theater.
Owner Dominique Maciejka said the grand opening marks the end of a long and emotional road since the Oct. 25, 2024, blaze that decimated hers and several other neighboring businesses on Main Street.
“Rebuilding this space from the ashes has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done,” she said. “But we’ve turned pain into purpose, and we’re back — bolder and more beautiful than ever. This grand opening is not just for me — it’s for every single person who helped make this possible.
“Thank you to all who believed in us and helped us get here.”
Maciejka first secured the location in December. (See photo above.)
From ashes to art
Paper Doll Vintage first opened in 2012 and quickly built a loyal following, even supplying wardrobe for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and other productions for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and A24.
It has also been featured in The New Yorker.
The new location was designed by Ricky TeeVee and artist Amanda Reilly, with an immersive interior inspired by the elegance of Art Deco and the whimsy of Art Nouveau.
Maciejka describes it as “not just a place to shop, but a story to walk through.”
