Suffolk cops released new details of the car involved in a hit-and-run that injured two teenagers, one seriously, in North Bellport last week.
Detectives believe the vehicle that fled the scene is a white, midsize Jeep SUV with damage to the front left corner, including the headlight, police said Monday.
The crash happened at 9:38 p.m. on Friday as the two teens were walking east across Station Road at Patchogue Avenue. The Jeep, traveling south, struck both pedestrians and continued south toward Montauk Highway without stopping, police said.
D’Ajiah Mitchell, 15, of East Patchogue, was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said. Kevin Reese, 14, of Bellport, was taken to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk County in Patchogue with minor injuries.
