JINYA Ramen Bar chooses Lake Grove for its first New York outpost

|

A nationally acclaimed California ramen chain has chosen Lake Grove for its New York debut.

JINYA Ramen Bar is now at at 3176 Middle Country Rd., across from Smith Haven Mall. There are more in the works for the region as well.

The Lake Grove ramen restaurant is owned by Ed Doherty and his family, whose portfolio includes a wide range of national brands across the Tri-State area, including Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, Panera Bread, other eateries and SOLA Salon Studios.

“It’s an elevated ramen experience,” said Neesha Seervai, vice president of operations with Doherty Enterprises. “Our chefs are trained by Japanese chefs; it’s an intense training.”

Inside the newly built space, a large central bar anchors the dining room, offering handcrafted cocktails like the Lycheetini — made with shochu, lychee juice and fresh lychee, along with wine, beer and sake flights.

The menu features 13 varieties of ramen, ranging from traditional pork to shrimp wonton and birria ramen, with broths simmered for at least 20 hours before serving.

“Even the bases of the ingredients are made with love,” Seervai said.

Beyond ramen, the menu includes rice bowls, small plates, mini tacos and salads, along with a dedicated kids menu.

“People love our food,” Seervai added. “Once someone comes, they will keep coming because you can taste the quality.”

JINYA Ramen Bar operates nearly 75 locations in two dozen states and Washington D.C.
