Twelve female student-athletes from Sayville High School’s senior class signed official letters of intent to play sports in college for NCAA Division I and II programs, the school district announced.
The group includes six Sayville lacrosse players, three members of Sayville’s cross country and track teams, two volleyball athletes and a player on Sayville’s field hockey team.
The athletes gathered with their families and coaches at a special ceremony hosted by the high school on Nov. 9. At the event, each athlete signed their official letter of intent to play at their respective school of choice.
