Aldi is adding two more stores on Long Island this summer

|

Long Island is getting two new Aldi supermarkets — one in Lake Ronkonkoma and another in Bethpage — both expected to open soon.

“We are excited to share that our new stores in Lake Ronkonkoma and Bethpage are expected to open this summer,” said Chris Daniels, regional vice president at Aldi.

Exact opening dates haven’t been announced yet. [Check back with Greater Long Island for updates.]

The Lake Ronkonkoma location is taking over the former King Kullen site at 153 Ronkonkoma Avenue. The Bethpage store is moving into the former A.C. Moore Arts and Crafts building at 3988 Hempstead Turnpike.

This news comes just a month after Aldi’s latest Long Island opening in Medford, located at the Medford Crossings shopping center along Route 112.

Aldi first entered the Long Island market in 2011 with a store in Bay Shore. Since then, the German-based discount grocer has expanded to locations across the Island, including Lindenhurst, Patchogue, Selden, Lake Grove, Riverhead, Rocky Point, Bohemia, Valley Stream, Carle Place, North Babylon, Shirley, Hempstead, Central Islip, East Northport — and now Medford.
