Aldi’s Long Island expansion continues this week.
The German discount grocer is opening in North Babylon at 1251 Deer Park Ave. Thursday, Aug. 27.
This is the company’s eighth location on the island. Other sister stores in Suffolk are in Bay Shore, Lindenhurst, Patchogue, Selden, Lake Grove and Riverhead.
Another Aldi opened on Long Island this past year after the retailer announced its plan to open 70 new stores over the last six months of 2020. That store is located in Valley Stream at 750 Sunrise Highway in the Green Acres Commons.
“Long Island is an important market for us, and we are proud to be opening our second new store this year,” said Chris Daniels, South Windsor division vice president for Aldi. “Opening new stores and providing even more customers access to healthy, low-price groceries has always been one of our top priorities, and it’s more critical now than ever before.”
