Alumna gives Eastport-South Manor baseball field a ‘Shark’ new look

|

Just in time for baseball season, Eastport-South Manor Junior Senior High School has a new backstop to be proud of.

The work behind home plate at ESM’s baseball field is sure to become the envy of visiting teams this spring. Five giant, blue mesh banners — branded with the Sharks logo — were installed last week on the backstop.

And what makes the project a little extra special is that it was installed by 2013 alumna Brittany Boccio with Multi Source Printing.

“I never thought I would be working on a project at my high school 8 years after graduating but here I am!!” Boccio proudly boasts in a Facebook post that shows a time-lapse video recording of the three-hour installment.

“After about 3 hours, our hands were frozen, but the finished product makes it all worth it!” continued Boccio of Manorville.

The banners were printed with premium UV ink and are reinforced, hemmed and grommeted around each border, in order to sustain windy weather conditions and foul ball damage.
