Apparently, one Marriott hotel just isn’t enough near Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City.
The hotel chain plans to open a new 170-room hotel on Ring Road by fall 2026, the Long Island Business News reported. While the new $75.6 million hotel would be Marriott’s first AC by Marriott on Long Island, it would be located in sight of the 163-room Residence Inn by Marriott that opened in 2020.
The plan is to have construction start in December. The four-story AC by Marriott will have a lobby bar and 5,000-square feet of meeting space.
Marriott counts more than 225 AC hotels in 33 countries and territories. Marriott says the AC brand focuses on providing guests with a seamless and enjoyable experience, featuring spaces that balance style and functionality.
LIBN’s report noted the developer is seeking economic incentives from the Nassau IDA, including sales and mortgage tax exemptions and a 20-year payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement.
