Center Moriches might be the luckiest town on Long Island.
Yes, because of its close proximity to the bay, and its charming Main Street — but, we’re talking literally.
The small South Shore hamlet just sold its third winning lottery ticket since September, according to the New York Lottery.
On Wednesday, a patron of Center Moriches’ Main Street Mart — a smoke shop and convenience store at a Coastal gas station — bought a third-place Powerball ticket. The ticket cashed at $50,000.
A few months earlier, in September, the same shop, which is located at 230 Main Street, sold another third-prize winning Powerball ticket. That one also was for $50,000. The drawing was on Sept. 23.
And, to top it off, last month, a lucky Center Moriches King Kullen shopper racked in $20,972.50, after winning the top prize of the TAKE 5 midday drawing on Jan. 5.
Not bad.
Stay tuned with greaterlongisland.com, we’ll keep you posted if the lucky streak continues in Center Moriches.
