Art of Spices, a traditional Indian restaurant from restaurateur Kundan Chauhan, has officially opened in downtown Patchogue.
Located at 58 South Ocean Ave. — between the popular Mazza Mediterranean restaurant and Bird & Bao — the 1,150-square-foot space has been transformed from its gutted state into a full-functioning restaurant. Chauhan is bringing flavors from his three Texas-based restaurants to the area, providing a menu with such Indian staples as chicken tikka masala, kababs, curry, naan, palak paneer and biryani.
“We love to be part of what’s happening in Patchogue,” Chauhan told Greater Long Island, earlier. “It’s a beautiful area, with so much activity.”
David Kennedy, executive director of the village’s Business Improvement District, had previously expressed his excitement over the new addition.
“An Indian restaurant is certainly a missing piece in the mosaic of Patchogue’s great restaurants,” he said. “We welcome the addition of a restaurant serving authentic Indian cuisine.”
The restaurant, which features dine-in service and take-out options, offers seating for about 20 people, with six tables available. Art of Spices will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
