Atomic Wings opening its first stand-alone Long Island spot, in Miller Place

|

Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. And now: Miller Place.

Atomic Wings is set to open its very first stand-alone Long Island location, inside Aliano Shopping Center on busy Route 25A in Miller Place.

The Atomic Wings chain opened its first restaurant in 1989, in New York City. It now operates more than 20 spots in five states, including a Westhampton location that includes a Boom Burger! in a shared space. New York City has 12 Atomic Wings locations.

The menu mainly features Buffalo wings, boneless wings and chicken tenders. Customers can choose to spice things up with a wide range of 15 flavors, including Hot Buffalo, Jerk BBQ, Thai Chili, Mango Habanero, Nuclear and, of course, Atomic.

Atomic Wings founder Adam Lippin wanted to recreate the hot, crispy wings he ate often while going to college in Buffalo in the early 1980s.

A sign outside the Miller Place location indicates that it’s “Opening Soon.” Located next door is the Tuscany Gourmet Market.

By appearances, most of the decor of the new Atomic Wings in Miller Place is in place. The inside features tall leather booth seating, hardwood flooring, trendy lighting and a long wood-faced bar.
