An AutoZone auto parts store is coming soon to replace the former Lucille Roberts in the William Floyd Plaza in Shirley.
The site, located at 349 William Floyd Pkwy., next to Leslie’s Pool Supplies and in the same shopping center as The Home Depot and King Kullen, is currently under construction and fenced in.
A photo posted to Facebook by Shirley resident James Picon showed a “Coming Soon” on the front of the building.
Picon, who owns the Battlegrounds electronics and game store in the same shopping center, said the new location would likely drive more traffic and business. But he was surprised that it would be an AutoZone, considering there’s another location about two miles away at 1166 Montauk Hwy. in Mastic.
According to AutoZone’s website, it has four job openings for the Shirley location.
The owner of the Shirley property was not immediately available for comment.
