It was time to raise a glass and pour some ketchup at the newly opened Babylon Burger Bar in Babylon Village.
On Tuesday, June 19, the burger restaurant on West Main Street that opened this winter held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their prominent spot at the corner of Deer Park Avenue.
“Things have been greater than our expectations,” said co-owner Richard Bedrosian. “The people who live in Babylon have supported us so well.”
Among those supporters last week were representatives from Village Hall and the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce.
“I have to say I have eaten here a couple of times and its really, really great,” said Mayor Ralph Scordino.
“It is great to have a business in the village like this one,” said the chamber’s president, Jacqueline DiDonato.
In addition to its customizable burgers, Bedrosian said his desserts have been a big hit.
“Our Supershakes are dressed up milkshakes with a dessert on top,” he said. “The kids love it.”
Soon the Babylon Burger Bar will be rolling out a summer menu that with lighter, warmer weather fare such as New England-style lobster rolls.
