Babylon Village honored the late Mayor Ralph Scordino in a motorcade tribute this morning where residents bid their last goodbyes to the beloved community leader.
The procession started at Chapey’s Funeral Home around 11:30 a.m. and ended at St. Joseph’s Church on Carll Avenue for a noon funeral mass.
The motorcade drove through Main Street and Deer Park Avenue, while residents and business owners stood along the sidewalks to pay their respects.
Scordino died unexpectedly last week at his second home upstate, to what is believed to have been a heart attack. He was 71.
Scordino served as mayor for over 16 years. He was a fixture at local events and known to maintain an open-door policy with his residents.
Below are photos and a video from the motorcade tribute.
